Character&Improvement Nominations and Awards

CHARACTER AND IMPROVEMENT NOMINATIONS AND AWARDS
Pillars of Character

Students are nominated by teachers and staff for showing good character based on the Six Pillars of Character or showing some kind of improvement.  Students who are nominated are given a signed certificate, goodie bag, and have their names announced on the morning announcements.
The Six Pillars of Character include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.  
The areas of improvement can include any of the following or more: attendance, behavior, assignment completion, grades, work ethic, attitude, motivation, and more.

was nominated by Mrs. Durbin for showing improvement in assignment completion, effort, attendance, and attitude in English 11 and Algebra 2

Damian C.
was nominated by Mrs. Durbin for showing improvement in assignment completion and grades during the first nine weeks of this school year.

Ethan R. w
as nominated by Mrs. Sorm for showing the character traits of Responsibility, Caring, and Citizenship by being extremely cooperative and helpful in cleaning up the classroom even when not asked during Study Skills class.

Tyliah W.
was nominated by Mrs. Albaugh for showing the character trait of Kindness by putting up the chairs in her math class at the end of the day without being asked. 

Andre Ramos
was nominatedby Mr. Lance for showing improvement in Assignment Completion and Test Scores in order to earn a B for the first nine weeks in Government.

Myaecha T.
was nominated by Mrs. Sims  for showing the character traits of Caring and Kindness by helping a new student to the office, showing her courtesy, and helping her get breakfast.

Oma H.
was nominated by Mrs. Shehorn  for showing the character traits of Caring and Kindness by helping others complete their Geometry MathXL assignments.

Nathan G.
was nominated by Mr. Cavanaugh for showing all of the character traits by helping others in class, actively participating in class, taking initiative, and showing care for new students in Fire Safety/EMT class.

Tradale B.
was nominated by Mr. Jackson for showing the character trait of Respect by being pleasant and always checking in with his Street Law teacher to see how their day is going.

Anaya M.
was nominated by Mrs. Harmon for her improvement in dedication and commitment to excellence by diligently working to make her grades the best they have ever been in English.

Devin B.
was nominated by Mrs. Coleman for his improvement in attendance, behavior, assignment completion, work ethic, and motivation to get good grades and keep on track in all classes this year.

Anthony H. was
nominated by Mrs. Durbin for showing the character traits of Respect and Responsibility  by always doing the right thing, working hard, and being respectful at all times in English 10.

Theron K.
was nominated by Mrs. Comeriato for showing the character trait of Caring by using his technology knowledge, in a patient and considerate way, to help others with their projects in Textiles and Interior Design class.

Angel T.
was nominated by Ms. Manno for showing the character traits of Respect and Responsibility by taking on a leadership role and helping others succeed with the coffee business each morning.

Jah'rese S.
was nominated by Ms. Manno for his character traits of Respect and Responsibility by being a reliable and responsible worker at school and his job site.

Dakota H.
was nominated by Ms. Manno for his improvement in behavior and attitude at school and at his job site.

Avery R., Nellian V., and Elyse D. 
were nominated by Mrs. Comeriato for their character trait of Caring because they take it upon themselves to help other students with projects while the teacher is helping other students and it helps their Textile and Constructions class run more smoothly. 

Danny S. was nominated by Mrs. Durbin for his overall Improvement and Dedication to his academics this school year.

Trent C. was nominated by Mr. Hunyadi for his character traits of Trustworthiness, Respect, and Citizenship by being honest, trusted to do the right thing, and helpfulness to others in IT.

Talla P. was nominated by Ms. Manno for her character traits of Trustworthiness, Responsibility, and Caring by being a classroom leader and always helping other students succeed in Occupational Orientation.
Savanna C., Seth Y., and Elayna G. were nominated by Mr. Wojcik for their character traits of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring by their willingness to give of their time and talent to help other students in Integrated Software class.

Gabrielle D. was nominated by Mrs. Harmon for her Responsibility, Caring, and Citizenship character traits because she showed her dedication and love for animals by rescuing an injured wild bunny, caring for it, and helping it make its way to a hospital and rehabilitation site.
