Ellet Seniors Pass EMT Exam

Three Ellet CLC Seniors Pass EMT Exam During Stay-at-Home Order
Posted on 05/11/2020
In the fall of 2019, Brandon Schoborg, director of Paramedic Education and Cleveland Clinic Akron General and advisory board member at Ellet CLC, proposed an opportunity for Ellet Fire Safety Pathway senior students to participate in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training. The training featured more than 200 hours of instruction in didactic and clinical practice. Three students opted to participate in evening classes at Cleveland Clinic Akron General (CCAG) while balancing the difficult task of attending evening classes with a normal school schedule. Once the stay-at-home order was issued by Governor Mike Dewine, the students finished the training classes online. Fire Safety pathway teacher Mr. Brian Cavanaugh spent many hours helping and coaching the students through the curriculum and checking on students after hours at CCAG. Through persistence and dedication, all three Ellet students recently passed the final EMT exam. Congratulations to Emily Morris, Christopher Cheatham and Nathaniel Grubbs on this significant accomplishment. (courtesy of College and Career Academies website)
